News updates on Great Northern Minerals, Revolver Resources, Epiroc, Geoscience Australia, Metal Bank and more … Revolver Resources says diamond drill core from its Project Osprey, 200km north of Mount Isa, shows a clear iron oxide copper gold (IOCG) ore deposit signature. Managing director Pat Williams said the true potential of the project was only just being fully recognised. “We are very encouraged by the potential for a large-scale copper discovery at Project Osprey which may also offer gold and rare earths credits according to initial review,” Mr Williams said. The company is reassessing a large quantity of exploration data accumulated over several exploration campaigns since 2016. Great Northern Minerals has released results from a reconnaissance sampling program at the Douglas Creek prospect, located within the company's Golden Ant project in North Queensland. Fifteen samples were taken from an area approximately 900 by 170m, with the majority returning strongly anomalous gold, silver and copper grades. “The recently completed sampling program at Douglas Creek has returned outstanding results of up to 2.0 g/t gold, 84 g/t silver and 11.0 per cent copper," chief executive officer and managing director Cameron McLean said. Epiroc has completed the acquisition of JTMEC, an Australian company specialising in providing mines with electrical infrastructure. Epiroc president and chief executive officer Helena Hedblom said the acquisition would further strengthen the company's ability to support mining customers on their electrification journey toward less emissions, improved work conditions, and higher productivity. Geoscience Australia has released the new Australian National Gravity Database (ANGD) as a new layer within the GA Portal. (Access to the portal is available here ) The layer makes available over 1.8 million stations of ground gravity point-located data from Geoscience Australia’s National Gravity Database for download as a single dataset, complementing the Geophysical Archive and Data Delivery System (GADDS). Queensland’s exploration expenditure continues to surge ahead, according to the latest data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics. Expenditure over the past financial year has risen by more than 3 per cent to reach $726.5 million – Queensland’s strongest result since 2014-15. EGRU is organising a one-day workshop on Mineral Systems of NE Qld to be held in Charters Towers in early August. (Full details HERE) The workshop will bring together geoscientists from industry, research and government to discuss the geology and mineralisation potential of the region, provide an update on some of the current exploration and mining projects, and consider areas where additional data and research could contribute to exploration. Metal Bank has completed an initial RC-only program at the Millennium project in North West Queensland, with 1580m drilled along with several precollars in preparation for diamond drilling. The company said visual observations had been encouraging, with copper oxide and/or sulphides noted in all holes and mineralisation noted in all host rocks. Metal Bank has developed a three-phase work program for Millennium in 2022 seeking to confirm theexploration target for the project of 8–10Mt at 1.0 – 1.1 per cent copper equivalent and future resource expansion and development potential.
