Quick fire – industry events update

Middlemount will host a technical meeting of the Bowen Basin Underground Geotechnical Society (BBUGS) this week.

In addition to a range of presentations, BBUGS is coordinating underground mine tours at the Oaky North and Aquila operations as well as networking opportunities before and after the event.

AIG Queensland Minerals Round-Up – Brisbane, November 30-December 1

The Australian Institute of Geoscientists Queensland branch is launching a new annual conference, and the call is out for speakers.

The inaugural Queensland Minerals Round-Up aims to present a one-stop event for geoscience.

Following in the footsteps of the Victorian Minerals Round-Up, it is intended to put industry, research, universities and government in the same room, all focused on what’s happening in Queensland.

The organisers are seeking submissions for technical talks (15 minutes), posters, and core box displays to showcase projects, distinct or interesting geology, technical challenges, and successes. (Email qld@aig.org.au to express interest).
