Genex Power has executed an early contractor involvement agreement with PCL Construction for the first stage of the Bulli Creek Clean Energy Park, to be developed about 45km south-west of Millmerran.

Bulli Creek Stage 1 (BC1) is proposed to comprise a 300MW solar farm and 425MW/1,700MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

Genex said PCL was to be the EPC contractor for the originally proposed 775MW Bulli Creek Solar Project, and they were excited to be working together as the project evolved.

‘The strong understanding of the site conditions and delivery strategy developed through our previous collaboration provides a valuable foundation as we continue advancing BC1 through development,’ the company said in a social media update.

‘Genex and PCL will work collaboratively to further optimise the project design, delivery methodology, construction planning and commercial readiness, helping position BC1 for successful FID as we target construction commencement in 2028.’

The broader Bulli Creek Clean Energy Park is set to be built over four stages, with capacity of up to 2.5GW.

Genex has promised a suite of community benefits associated with the development including putting up to $500,000 towards the redevelopment of a central community precinct located near the library in the centre of Millmerran known as Domville Place.
