Orient delivers high-grade hits for Iltani

Iltani Resources has chalked up assay results as high as 1063.9 g/t silver equivalent from recent reverse circulation drilling at its Orient project in the Herberton region. Assays results have been received for five RC drill holes from a program of 25 RC drill holes completed at Orient East, one at Orient South and seven at Orient West. Iltani managing director Donald Garner said drilling to date demonstrated the size and scale of the Orient system, which the company believes to be Australia’s largest silver-indium deposit. Related: Iltani continues Herberton region drilling drive “The first assay results from our latest drilling at Orient East have surpassed our expectations, delivering excellent thick, high-grade silver-lead-zinc-indium intercepts including 7m at 342.5g/t AgEq in ORR041, plus wide zones of mineralisation such as 30m at 86.3g/t AgEq and 27m at 105.7g/t AgEq in ORR037, demonstrating Orient East’s potential," Mr said. "We are expecting to receive more assay results over the coming weeks and this data will be incorporated into the Orient East geological model, which will then be used by Mining One to block model the Orient East mineralisation and estimate an Orient East exploration target." Highlights include: ORR036: 7m at 167.7 g/t AgEq from 129 m, including 1m at 551.3g/t AgEq from 129m downhole; and 8m at 79.2g/t AgEq from 210 m, including 3m at 137.9g/t AgEq from 211m downhole. ORR037: 30m at 86.3g/t AgEq from 52m, including 16m at 120.7g/t AgEq from 66m including 3m at 292.3g/t AgEq from 66m downhole; and 27m at 105.7g/t AgEq from 102m, including 5m at 243.6g/t AgEq from 104m, including 2m at 448.6g/t AgEq from 104m downhole. ORR041: 7m at 342.5g/t AgEq from 37m, including 2m at 899.2g/t AgEq from 40m, including 1m at 1063.9g/t AgEq from 40m downhole; 6m at 126.1g/t AgEq from 65m, including 2m at 277.5g/t AgEq from 67m downhole; and 14m at 122.7g/t AgEq from 89m, including 5m at 219.6g/t AgEq from 97m, including 1m at 679.1g/t AgEq from 100m downhole. Mr Garner said drilling activities at Orient had been paused for the wet season. The company was planning to mobilise multiple drill rigs when it resumed in 2025 to continue drilling at Orient East and Orient West, he said. It also intends to test a cluster of mapped vein systems and old workings at Orient North, which are about 250m north of the current drilling at Orient East.
