

Mount Chalmers delivers more high-grade hits
Two holes designed to test separate positions within the mineralised system at Mount Chalmers, near Rockhampton, have returned significant results, according to QMines.
A drillhole (26MCRD006) targeting the copper-rich system beneath the historical mine workings at Mount Chalmers returned 32m at 2.0 per cent copper, 0.39g/t gold and 2.6g/t silver.
This was one of the widest continuous copper intersections of the 10,000m drilling program underway at the site, the company said.
The intersection contained a high-grade copper core of 7m at 4.18 per cent copper, including a peak 1m at 11.3 per cent copper.

Drill hole 26MCDD008 tested a shallow polymetallic lens and returned 8m at 5.14g/t gold, 132g/t silver, 4.68 per cent zinc and 0.31 per cent copper from 56m.
A second interval of 10m assayed at 2.24 per cent zinc, 115g/t silver and 0.84g/t gold from 67m.
QMines (ASX: QML) exploration manager Tom Bartschi said the results were giving the company a better understanding of the broader Mount Chalmers system.

“In hole 26MCDD008 we intersected the shallow gold-silver-zinc-rich polymetallic zone including individual metres of up to 12.6g/t gold and 260g/t silver,” he said.
“Deeper in the system, hole 26MCRD006 returned a 32m interval at 1.99 per cent copper through the copper-dominant stringer and semi-massive sulphide zone.
“The sharp margins and internal high-grade zones are giving us a much clearer picture of the geometry and metal zoning of the feeder system beneath the historic workings.
“Taken together with holes 26MCRD002 and 26MCDD007 announced earlier this month, the current campaign is now intersecting both the upper polymetallic lenses and the deeper copper-gold-dominant parts of the Mount Chalmers VHMS system.
“With further holes completed and assays still to come, we are continuing to strengthen our understanding of system for both mining and deeper extensions.”
