More high-grade hits around Mount Carlton

Navarre Minerals reports further strong gold, silver and copper results from drilling at satellite mineral deposits around its Mount Carlton gold mine in North Queensland. Peak assay results include 1m grading at 77.4 g/t gold and 204.0 g/t silver within a 12m intercept grading 8.1 g/t gold and 41.0 g/t silver (from 1m downhole) at Mount Carlton United. Drilling remains ongoing at MCU, where Navarre Minerals has the green light to start a new open-pit mine. The company announced State approval for the operation last week and expects to have ore from the project flowing to its 960Ktpa Mount Carlton processing facility by the end of the year. Navarre Minerals acquired the Mount Carlton gold operation, 150km south of Townsville, from Evolution Mining last year in a $90 million deal. “It’s great to see consistently strong results being generated from our investment in drilling at Mount Carlton, including several high-grade gold, silver and copper intercepts from the MCU and BV7 deposits as part of this latest market update," managing director Ian Holland said. “Our work continues to demonstrate the project development opportunities present within the broader Mount Carlton project area, which now include five potential satellite gold, silver and copper deposits to supplement existing production from the V2 open pit. "These satellite deposits are strategically located within short trucking distances of our 960Ktpa processing facility. “In the meantime, drilling continues on the Mount Carlton mine lease, focused on further opportunities to grow our mineral resource inventory, particularly in support of our newly approved open pit mine at MCU.” The latest drill intercepts reported to the market are from the MCU deposit and the BV7 and Delta deposits at Crush Creek. Navarre said the results continued to reinforce the shallow, high-grade nature of these deposits and to highlight the outstanding prospectivity of the broader Mount Carlton project area. The latest MCU results cover 58 reverse circulation (RC) holes for 2361m of drilling, while the new results from BV7 and Delta cover an additional 19 diamond core holes and 17 reverse circulation holes for 4781.8m of drilling. This represents the final assays for all drilling completed at Crush Creek during this season’s program. Location of the Crush Creek mineral resources at BV1, BV7 and Delta. The drilling program has involved up to two RC drilling rigs and one diamond core drilling rig, with the aim of infilling and extending the known limits of the gold, silver and copper mineralised systems.
