The Yandan Gold Project is an advanced gold exploration and development project located in Queensland’s Drummond Basin, approximately 40 km west of Mount Coolon.
The project is owned by GBM Resources, which acquired it as part of a strategy to build a multi-million-ounce gold district in the region.
Yandan hosts several known gold deposits, including East Hill, South Hill and Illamahta, with mineralisation associated with epithermal vein systems formed by ancient geothermal activity.
Current estimates indicate a JORC-compliant resource of about 15.9 million tonnes grading around 1.0 g/t gold for roughly 514,500 ounces of contained gold, largely defined in near-surface deposits suitable for potential open-pit mining.
The project also has a history of gold production, with earlier operations extracting approximately 350,000 ounces of gold, and retains significant legacy infrastructure such as tailings facilities, water dams, a power line and an airstrip.
GBM Resources is continuing exploration and drilling at Yandan to expand the resource base and test deeper high-grade vein targets. The company is also evaluating the site as a potential central processing hub for nearby projects within its broader Drummond Basin gold strategy.
