Sybella-Barkly rare earth and uranium project

Basin Energy (ASX:BSN) owns the Sybella-Barkly rare earth elements and uranium project, stretching across about 6140sq km in North-West Queensland.
Basin Energy plunged into the Queensland uranium and rare earths scene by taking over private critical minerals explorer NeoDys in a deal completed in late 2025.
Its tenement package covers an extensive portion of the Sybella batholith, deemed prospective for granite-hosted REE, as well as a significant Barkly Tablelands landholding.

The company has outlined district-scale targets:
- Paleochannel roll front uranium – AEM geophysical survey identified extensive paleochannel network adjacent to the Sybella uranium “hot” granite.
- Sediment and ionic clay-hosted rare earth elements – soil sampling completed with numerous samples returning >600 ppm TREO with a maximum of 653 ppm TREO.
- Hard rock, granite-hosted rare earth elements – recent auger drilling returned significant results including 5m at 1951 ppm TREO with 578 ppm Nd+Pr oxide, including 3m at 705 ppm Nd+Pr oxide.

In addition to these three district-scale targets (see diagram above), Basin Energy said the project area contained multiple shear-hosted Valhalla-style uranium targets.
Basin Energy (ASX: BSN) also has interests in prospective uranium projects in the Athabasca Basin in Canada and 100 per cent ownership of portfolios of uranium-green energy metals exploration assets in Sweden and Finland.
