The Saint Elmo Project is an advanced vanadium mining and processing development located about 20km east of Julia Creek within Queensland’s North West Minerals Province.

The project is wholly owned by Multicom Resources and is considered one of Australia’s most significant emerging critical minerals projects.

The development is planned as a shallow open-cut mining operation, extracting vanadium-rich ore from near-surface sedimentary deposits using strip mining methods.

Ore will be processed on site to produce vanadium pentoxide (V₂O₅), along with potential high-purity alumina (HPA) and other vanadium-based products used in high-strength steel and large-scale battery storage technologies.

The project hosts a large, shallow resource with a low strip ratio, supporting long-term production. Initial output is expected to exceed 7,000tpa of vanadium products, with approvals in place to expand production to up to 20,000–26,000tpa over time.

With an anticipated mine life of at least 30 years, Saint Elmo is designed as a fully integrated operation including processing facilities, water infrastructure and transport links to existing road, rail and port networks.

If fully developed, the project would position Queensland as a key global supplier of vanadium, supporting the growing demand for critical minerals in renewable energy and advanced manufacturing sectors.
