The Ravenswood West Project (often referred to within the broader Ravenswood Consolidated Project) is a gold-focused exploration and development area located near Charters Towers in North Queensland, within the historic Ravenswood goldfield.
The project is being advanced by Sunshine Metals, which is targeting near-term gold production alongside longer-term base-metal opportunities.
Ravenswood West broadly refers to western extensions and prospects within the wider project area, including zones along strike from deposits such as Liontown and Tigertown, where exploration is targeting shallow oxide gold mineralisation suitable for open-pit mining.
These areas are part of a large mineralised system that hosts gold, copper, zinc, lead and silver, associated with volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) and intrusion-related systems.
The broader project hosts a resource of about 7Mt at around 4.0 g/t gold equivalent, highlighting its potential scale and supporting ongoing drilling and development studies.
Sunshine Metals is focusing on expanding shallow gold resources that could be processed through nearby toll-treatment facilities, enabling a potential low-capital pathway to production.
Although still at the exploration and study stage, Ravenswood West forms a key part of Sunshine Metals’ strategy to develop a multi-deposit gold project within one of Queensland’s most prolific mining regions.
