Pajingo Mine

The Pajingo Mine is an underground gold mining operation located about 50km south of Charters Towers and about 160km south-west of Townsville.

Yuxin Holdings acquired the Pajingo operation in November 2022.

Pajingo is a high-grade epithermal gold system, with mineralisation hosted in a series of quartz veins within volcanic rocks.

Mining is conducted using underground methods, with ore extracted from multiple lodes and transported to the surface for processing.

The operation includes an on-site carbon-in-leach (CIL) processing plant, where gold is recovered and poured into doré bars for sale.

The mine has been in operation since the mid-1980s and has produced several million ounces of gold over its life. Current operations focus on extending mine life through ongoing exploration drilling and development of new underground areas.

Pajingo typically produces around 100,000oz of gold per year, although output varies depending on mining conditions and development stages. The operation contributes significantly to the regional economy.
