The Orient Project is Iltani Resources’ flagship silver-indium-zinc-lead exploration project located near Herberton in North Queensland, approximately 250km southwest of Cairns. The project comprises two exploration permits covering around 290km² within the historic Herberton Mineral Field, an area known for polymetallic mineralisation. Iltani is targeting a large-scale epithermal system containing silver, indium, zinc and lead, with additional copper and tin potential. The project remains in the exploration stage, with multiple mineralised prospects identified across the tenure.
Drilling has confirmed broad, high-grade mineralisation at the Orient East and Orient West prospects, supporting the potential for a significant critical minerals deposit. Metallurgical test work has also demonstrated that X-ray Transmission (XRT) ore sorting can effectively upgrade mineralised material and reject waste before processing, offering the potential to reduce operating costs, improve feed grades and lower the project’s environmental footprint. The company is continuing resource definition drilling, metallurgical studies and mining concept evaluations to support future development decisions. With strong exposure to silver and indium—both considered important for electronics, semiconductors and renewable energy technologies—the Orient Project is emerging as one of Queensland’s most promising undeveloped polymetallic exploration assets.
