Olive Downs Complex

The Olive Downs Complex is a large-scale metallurgical coal mining operation located near the town of Dysart in the Bowen Basin.

The Pembroke Resources mine represents one of the newest coal developments in central Queensland. Backed by Denham Capital, the operation is licensed to produce up to 20Mtpa of metallurgical coal.

Mining is carried out using conventional truck-and-shovel methods, targeting coal seams within the Permian-aged Bowen Basin coal measures.

Coal is processed through on-site handling and preparation facilities before being transported via a new rail link connecting to the Moura rail system, enabling export through the Port of Gladstone.

As one of the Bowen Basin’s newest mines, it plays an important role in sustaining Queensland’s metallurgical coal export industry and meeting global demand for steelmaking raw materials.
