The Mount Isa East Project is a large copper-gold exploration project located about 30km south-east of Mount Isa within the highly prospective Mount Isa Inlier.
The project is primarily held by Cooper Metals, which has focused on advancing it as a flagship copper-gold exploration asset.
Covering a substantial land package of about 1300sqkm across multiple exploration tenements, the project hosts numerous historical workings and mineralised prospects.
Mineralisation is associated with faults and shear zones, typical of the region’s major copper-gold systems, including styles that have historically produced significant copper in the Mount Isa district.
Exploration programs, including drilling and geochemical surveys, have identified multiple targets with potential for both iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) and shear-hosted mineralisation.
Although still at the exploration stage, Mount Isa East is considered a large, district-scale copper-gold opportunity, with ongoing work focused on expanding known mineralisation and testing new targets within one of Australia’s most productive base-metal provinces.
