The Mount Freda / Golden Mile Project is a gold development project located about 39km south-east of Cloncurry within the mineral-rich Mount Isa Inlier.
The project forms part of a broader Cloncurry gold district hub, incorporating the Mount Freda open pit (pictured) and the nearby Golden Mile deposits, which lie within a few kilometres of each other.
The Mount Freda deposit was historically mined between 1987 and 1991, producing about 30,000 ounces of gold per year at relatively high grades.
The adjoining Golden Mile area consists of a series of historical workings—including Comstock, Shamrock and Falcon—spread across a mineralised corridor more than 8km long.
The combined project hosts a shallow gold resource with mineralisation remaining open at depth and along strike, supporting redevelopment potential.
Development concepts have focused on open-cut mining, with ore to be processed via nearby third-party carbon-in-pulp (CIP) facilities in the Cloncurry region, enabling a relatively low-capital restart pathway.
Current plans centre on restarting mining operations and expanding resources through drilling, with the project viewed as a potential multi-pit gold production hub capable of delivering near-term production and longer-term growth in the Cloncurry district.
