The Maronan Project is an advanced polymetallic mining development located about 65km south of Cloncurry in North-West Queensland. The project is owned by Maronan Metals and hosts significant lead-silver and copper-gold mineralisation similar to nearby major mines such as Cannington, Mount Isa and Dugald River.
The deposit contains two main mineral systems. The first is a large silver-lead resource estimated at about 33.1 million tonnes grading roughly 6 per cent lead and 108g/t silver, making it one of Australia’s largest undeveloped silver resources. The second is a copper-gold resource of about 32 million tonnes grading around 0.85 per cent copper and 0.63 g/t gold, providing significant additional metal value.
Exploration drilling has confirmed strong continuity of mineralisation and identified a shallow “starter zone” less than 90m below surface that could support early underground development. Metallurgical test work indicates the ore can be processed using conventional flotation methods to produce metal concentrates.
Maronan is being advanced toward feasibility assessment and could potentially become a new base-metal mine in Queensland’s North West Minerals Province.
