Lighthouse Project

The Lighthouse Project is a gold exploration prospect held by Sunshine Metals in North Queensland. The project forms part of the company’s broader Ravenswood Consolidated Project, which covers a large mineralised area near Charters Towers and the historic Ravenswood goldfield.

The Ravenswood district is one of Queensland’s most productive mineral provinces, having produced more than 20 million ounces of gold along with significant volumes of base-metal ore. Exploration across the project area targets several deposit styles including intrusion-related gold systems, volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) deposits containing copper-gold-zinc-lead mineralisation, and structurally controlled gold veins.

At Lighthouse, exploration focuses on identifying shallow gold mineralisation that could potentially be developed as a small open-pit operation or satellite deposit feeding nearby processing facilities in the region. Work programs typically include geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys and drilling designed to test mineralised structures beneath shallow cover.

Although still at an early exploration stage, the Lighthouse prospect contributes to Sunshine Metals’ broader strategy of defining new gold resources within the Ravenswood–Charters Towers mining corridor, an area with established infrastructure and a long history of gold production.
