The Koppany Project is part of Hammer Metals’ broader Mount Isa exploration portfolio, which covers thousands of square kilometres in one of Australia’s most prospective copper-gold regions.
Exploration at Koppany focuses on identifying iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) and structurally controlled copper-gold systems similar to those found at major nearby deposits such as Ernest Henry. These deposits are typically associated with hydrothermal alteration zones and copper sulphide mineralisation hosted in volcanic and metamorphic rocks.
Work at the project has included geological mapping, geochemical sampling, geophysical surveys and drilling to locate concealed mineralised systems beneath sedimentary cover. The broader Mount Isa exploration program has already defined several copper-gold targets across Hammer’s tenure, highlighting the strong prospectivity of the region.
