The Khartoum Project is a tin-tungsten and critical minerals exploration project located about 13km north of Mount Garnet and 100km south-west of Cairns. The project lies within the historical Herberton–Mount Garnet mineral field, a district known for tin, tungsten and base-metal mining dating back to the late nineteenth century.

The project consists of several exploration permits covering roughly 390sq km of prospective ground containing historical workings and new exploration targets. Geological studies indicate the presence of intrusion-related mineralisation associated with granitic systems that host tin, tungsten and potentially other technology metals such as rare earth elements, gallium and germanium.

Historic mining in the region focused on alluvial and lode deposits, but much of the area remains underexplored using modern techniques. Recent exploration programs have included geological modelling, geophysical surveys and drilling aimed at identifying larger mineralised systems beneath surface cover.

The project was acquired by Koba Resources in 2026, with plans to accelerate exploration drilling and further evaluate its potential for critical mineral resources.
