The Kalman Project is a copper-gold exploration and development project located about 60km south-east of Mount Isa in North-west Queensland within the highly mineralised Mount Isa Inlier. The project is wholly owned by Hammer Metals and forms part of the company’s broader Mount Isa copper-gold exploration portfolio.
The Kalman deposit hosts a significant polymetallic resource containing copper, gold, molybdenum and rhenium. Current estimates outline a mineral resource of around 39 million tonnes grading about 0.53 per cent copper, 0.27g/t gold and 0.10 per cent molybdenum, with additional rhenium credits, giving an overall copper-equivalent grade of roughly 1.07 per cent.
Geologically, the deposit is associated with intrusive-related hydrothermal systems typical of the Mount Isa region. Exploration drilling has identified zones of high-grade mineralisation and suggests the system remains open along strike and at depth, providing potential for resource expansion.
Development concepts being evaluated include a combination of open-pit and underground mining methods, supported by conventional crushing and flotation processing to produce copper concentrate.
