The Julia Creek Project is a large vanadium and oil-shale development proposed near the township of Julia Creek within the North West Minerals Province. The project is being advanced by QEM Limited and is considered one of the largest known vanadium deposits globally.

The project hosts a JORC resource of approximately 2.87 billion tonnes grading about 0.31% vanadium pentoxide (V₂O₅), making it a world-scale critical-minerals resource. In addition to vanadium, the orebody contains a significant in-situ oil resource, estimated at up to hundreds of millions of barrels of oil equivalent contained within the same sedimentary formation.

Development plans propose a greenfield open-cut mine and processing facility located about 16 km southeast of Julia Creek, producing vanadium pentoxide for steel alloys and emerging vanadium flow batteries used in large-scale renewable energy storage. The project also includes facilities to extract oil products from oil-shale resources, potentially producing transport fuels alongside vanadium products.

If developed, the project is expected to operate for several decades and could become a major supplier of vanadium for global energy storage technologies and steel production.
