Hamilton Project

The Hamilton Project is a copper–gold exploration project located about 120km south of the world-class Cannington mine and about 250km south of the Ernest Henry copper-gold deposit. The project is owned by AusQuest and comprises two exploration licences covering roughly 260sq km in a region known for large base-metal and copper-gold systems.

Exploration at Hamilton is focused on identifying iron-oxide copper-gold (IOCG) mineralisation similar to the Ernest Henry deposit, one of Australia’s major copper-gold mines. Much of the target geology lies beneath around 200m of sedimentary cover, making geophysical surveys and drilling critical tools for exploration.

Wide-spaced diamond drilling programs have intersected alteration zones, banded iron formations and pathfinder elements such as molybdenum, selenium and lead, along with elevated copper values, suggesting the possible presence of a nearby mineralised system.

Although still at an early exploration stage, the Hamilton Project has identified several promising geophysical targets and continues to be evaluated through additional drilling and geochemical studies aimed at discovering a large copper-gold deposit in the region.
