The Gregory Crinum Mine is an metallurgical coal operation located about 60km north-east of Emerald in Central Queensland. The mine produces high-quality hard coking coal used primarily in the manufacture of steel.

Gregory Crinum has operated as a combination of underground mines developed within the Permian-aged coal measures of the Bowen Basin. Mining has historically used longwall methods, where large mechanised equipment extracts coal from continuous seams while hydraulic supports maintain roof stability.

Coal from the operation is processed through the Gregory Coal Handling and Preparation Plant before being transported by rail along the Blackwater rail system to export terminals at the Port of Gladstone.

The mine has undergone several ownership changes since first commencing production in the 1970s. It is currently operated by Sojitz Blue. Gregory Crinum remains a significant contributor to Queensland’s metallurgical coal export industry and supports employment across the Emerald region.
