Located about 480km south-west of Cairns, the Georgetown gold project is Savannah Goldfields’ flagship asset.

The project centres on the Georgetown gold processing plant and a raft of mining and exploration tenements.

These include the Red Dam, Electric Light, Big Reef and Big Ben deposits. The company also draws ore from the Agate Creek mine  located about 100km south of the Georgetown plant and 480km south-west of Cairns. (See separate map entry HERE).

Red Dam – The Red Dam gold project is located about 80km north of Savannah’s Georgetown gold processing plant.The site was mined by Deutsche Rohstoff Australia about 15 years ago, producing about 22kt of oxide ore at a grade of 13.6g/t gold (containing about 10,000oz of gold) from an open pit.

The updated Red Dam resource estimate released in July 2026 comprises:

• Indicated mineral resource – 68kt at 7.9g/t gold, 11g/t silver
• Inferred mineral resource – 328 kt at 3.9g/t gold, 11g/t silver
• Total mineral resource – 396 kt at 4.6g/t gold, 11g/t silver

Electric Light – The Electric Light prospect is located about 20km north of Georgetown and 30km north of Savannah’s Georgetown plant. It was mined with surface workings and minor underground mining around 1900. A modern period of open pit mining for oxide mill feed commenced in December 2010 and was completed in April 2011.

The updated Electric Light mineral resource released in May 2026 comprises:

• Indicated mineral resource – 64kt at 5.4g/t gold and 4.5g/t silver
• Inferred mineral resource – 299kt at 3.6 g/t gold and 1.7g/t silver
• Total mineral resource – 364kt at 3.9g/t gold and 2.2g/t silver
