Eva Copper Project

The Eva Copper Project is a copper mining development about 75km north of Cloncurry in North-West Queensland. The project is owned by Harmony Gold following its acquisition of the asset from Copper Mountain Mining in 2022.

Harmony announced the go-ahead for the Eva copper mine development in late 2025 upon completion of an updated feasibility study.

The proposed open-pit operation is expected to produce about 65,000 tonnes of copper in concentrate per year during the first five years. It is expected to cost $2.3 billion to $2.6 billion to bring the operation online.

Eva is planned as a large-scale open-pit mining operation targeting several copper deposits across the project area, including the Little Eva, Blackard and Turkey Creek deposits. The ore would be processed at a central concentrator using conventional crushing, grinding and flotation methods to produce copper concentrate with gold as a by-product.

The concentrate produced would be transported by road to rail infrastructure and then shipped through the Port of Townsville.
