Dittmer Project

The Dittmer Project is an exploration and development project located about 20km south-west of Proserpine. The project covers the historical Dittmer goldfield, an area known for high-grade gold production during the mid-twentieth century.

Gold mineralisation at Dittmer is associated with quartz veins hosted within altered volcanic and intrusive rocks. Historical underground mining targeted narrow but high-grade gold reefs, producing significant grades from several underground workings between the 1930s and 1950s.

Modern exploration has focused on reassessing the district using contemporary geological modelling, geophysical surveys and drilling. These programs aim to identify extensions of known mineralised structures and evaluate the potential for additional gold deposits at depth or along strike from historic workings.

Although the project remains at the exploration stage, results to date suggest the Dittmer area has potential for further gold discoveries. The project highlights renewed interest in historical Queensland goldfields where modern exploration techniques are being used to uncover previously overlooked mineralisation.
