The Diamantina Copper-Gold Project is a 100%-owned exploration project of Strategic Energy Resources located south of the Mount Isa Inlier in northwest Queensland. The project comprises two granted exploration permits (EPM 27134-35) covering approximately 630km², plus three exploration licence applications (EPM 29278-29280) covering a further 945km². The project was acquired from Anglo American and targets concealed iron oxide copper-gold (IOCG) mineral systems beneath shallow sedimentary cover.
Exploration has confirmed that Proterozoic rocks associated with the highly mineralised Eastern Fold Belt continue beneath cover into the project area. The tenement package lies within a region that hosts major deposits including the Ernest Henry Mine, Osborne Mine and Eloise Mine. Drilling at the Elizabeth Springs East and West prospects has intersected broad zones of copper mineralisation and extensive IOCG-style alteration, highlighting the potential for large-scale undercover discoveries. Current exploration is focused on testing extensions to known mineralisation and evaluating new geophysical targets through diamond drilling programs supported by Queensland Government CEI funding.
