The Copper Dome Project is a copper-gold exploration project located in central Queensland and forms part of a broader portfolio of porphyry copper prospects being investigated along Australia’s east coast. The project was historically known as Mount Leslie and was first discovered during regional exploration for porphyry copper deposits in the early 1970s.

Early drilling programs in 1972 intersected multiple zones of copper mineralisation, including intervals such as 15m grading about 0.88 per cent copper and 12m at 0.61 per cent copper, suggesting the presence of a potentially large porphyry-style system. Gold has also been detected in some samples, indicating the possibility of a copper-gold deposit.

Geological studies show widespread alteration, brecciation and copper mineralisation across an area roughly 2km long and 1km wide, typical of large porphyry copper systems. The project remains relatively underexplored, with much of the earlier drilling being vertical and modern exploration techniques only recently applied.

Although still at the exploration stage, Copper Dome is considered a prospective copper-gold target with potential for further discoveries through additional drilling and geophysical surveys.
