The Clyde Park Project is a proposed thermal coal development located on the north-eastern edge of Queensland’s Galilee Basin, near the town of Pentland. The project forms part of a group of coal exploration tenements targeting large thermal coal resources within the basin, one of Australia’s newest coal-bearing regions.

Exploration has identified substantial coal resources within Permian-aged coal seams that outcrop in parts of the project area. Early resource estimates suggested hundreds of millions of tonnes of thermal coal could be present, with studies indicating the potential for a large-scale mining operation combining open-cut and underground extraction methods.

The project has been associated with several exploration permits and was previously advanced by Guildford Coal before later involvement by companies including TerraCom. Plans have considered linking the mine to regional rail and port infrastructure as part of a broader “pit-to-port” strategy for future Galilee Basin developments.

Although exploration work has been completed, the Clyde Park Project remains undeveloped and continues to be considered a long-term coal resource within the Galilee Basin.
