The Bundarra project is a copper-focused exploration project located in Central Queensland, about 130km south-west of Mackay and about 50km east of Moranbah. The project covers a large area within the Bowen Basin region and targets copper-silver-gold mineralisation associated with the Bundarra igneous complex.

Mineralisation occurs around the margins of the Bundarra pluton, an early Cretaceous intrusive system where copper-bearing sulphides have formed within surrounding volcanic and sedimentary rocks. Numerous prospects are distributed across the tenement, with exploration identifying at least 40–50 historical workings from small-scale mining that took place during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Modern exploration programs have focused on geophysical surveys, geochemical sampling and drilling to identify larger copper systems beneath historic workings. Several prospects, including Mount Flora and Quorn, have shown potential for significant copper-silver-gold mineralisation.

While still at the exploration stage, the Bundarra project is considered prospective for a large-tonnage copper deposit and forms part of ongoing efforts to expand Queensland’s base-metal resource potential.
