The Blackall Project is a large coal exploration and development project located in central-western Queensland, around 25km south of the town of Blackall within the Eromanga Basin. The project covers several exploration tenements and targets extensive deposits of thermal coal contained within the Winton formation.

Exploration programs, including drilling and geological modelling, have identified multiple coal seams across a broad area, with large resources occurring at relatively shallow depths. Some studies estimate that hundreds of millions to billions of tonnes of coal may be present across the wider project area, with a significant portion of the resource occurring less than 50 metres below the surface, making it potentially suitable for open-cut mining methods.

The coal is classified primarily as sub-bituminous thermal coal suitable for power generation. While the project remains in the exploration and study phase, previous development concepts have examined large-scale open-cut mining with potential production of tens of millions of tonnes of coal annually, supplying domestic power generation or export markets.
