The Ardmore Mine is an open-pit phosphate operation located in North-West Queensland, about 130km south of Mount Isa and about 40km west of Dajarra. Operated by PRL Group, the project is focused on producing high-grade phosphate rock used in the manufacture of agricultural fertilisers.

Mining at Ardmore targets shallow phosphate deposits hosted in sedimentary rock. Ore is extracted using conventional open-cut mining methods and then processed on site through crushing, screening and beneficiation to produce a high-grade phosphate concentrate. This product is primarily destined for fertiliser producers supplying global agriculture markets.

The operation benefits from relatively simple geology and near-surface mineralisation, allowing low strip ratios and efficient mining. Phosphate concentrate from Ardmore is transported by road to the Port of Townsville for export.

The project represents one of Australia’s few developing phosphate mines and contributes to the supply of a critical nutrient required for global food production.
