The Alice River Project is a large regional intrusion-related gold system located in Far North Queensland. Before Pacgold acquired the project in December 2020, the area had seen very limited modern exploration, despite hosting several historic gold workings across the district.
Pacgold’s exploration programs have identified anomalous gold mineralisation associated with a major regional structural corridor interpreted to extend for about 30km. So far, less than 5 per cent of this structure has been drill tested, while more than 90 per cent remains concealed beneath a thin layer of sand cover.
Through the use of regional induced polarisation (IP) geophysical surveys together with shallow geochemical aircore drilling, Pacgold has outlined more than 20 regional gold prospects along the host structure. Most of these targets lie beneath transported cover.
