Sunshine Metals has reported excellent results from shallow reverse circulation drilling at its Liontown West resource, including an intercept of 6m grading at 8.54g/t gold.

It is part of the company’s Ravenswood Consolidated Project in North Queensland, where a diamond drilling program is now underway at an area known as the Gap Zone within the Liontown prospect.

Sunshine managing director Damien Keys said the new RC drilling results from Liontown West were a further validation of the gold, copper, zinc and lead potential at Liontown.

Results from the six-hole campaign include:

• 11.0m at 4.90g/t gold, 0.52 per cent copper, 1.73 per cent zinc, 0.91 per cent lead (from 73m, 24LTRC028); including 6.0m at 8.54g/t gold, 0.80 per cent copper, 2.70 per cent zinc, 1.32per cent lead
• 10.0m at 2.60g/t gold, 1.04 per cent copper, 1.21 per cent zinc, 0.28 per cent lead (from 83m, 24LTRC026)
• 11.0m at 0.29g/t gold, 1.47 per cent copper, 4.81 per cent zinc, , 0.47 per cent lead (from 179m, 24LTRC027); including 6.0m at 0.44g/t gold, 1.67 per cent copper, 6.95 per cent zinc, 0.75 per cent lead

Dr Keys said the Gap Zone diamond program was well underway, with two completed holes and
samples at the lab.

“Diamond drilling is expected to continue through August 2024,” he said.

“Gold-copper-focused metallurgical test work is also progressing well on Liontown samples.

“The drilling and metallurgical work will culminate in a resource update/upgrade in the December 2024 quarter.

“Following the Gap Zone diamond program, discovery RC programs will kick off at Highway East and Truncheon, again targeting gold and copper mineralisation akin to that mined at Highway Reward.”
