High-grade results are continuing to flow from the Greater Duchess project, with Carnaby Resources reporting intercepts including 12.2m grading at 6.8 per cent copper from the Mount Hope area. It comes as the company advances a pre-feasibility study for the North-West Queensland project. “The Greater Duchess project continues to advance and grow through drilling as part of the pre-feasibility study and ongoing exploration," managing director Rob Watkins said. "The results announced today continue to demonstrate the enormous upside for future mineral resource growth through extensions and new exploration discoveries in the region. "The PFS remains on track with Carnaby’s maiden drilling at the new Trekelano acquisition about to commence.” Highlights from the latest batch of assays include: Mount Hope Central: 12.2m (TW~8m) at 6.8 per cent copper, 1.8 g/t gold (from 558m downhole) within 14m (TW~9m) at 5.8 per cent copper, 1.6g/t gold (558m) Mount Hope North: 18m (TW~13m) at 1.3 per cent copper, 0.1 g/t gold (127m) Burke & Wills: 3m (TW~2m) at 4.9 per cent copper, 2.8 g/t gold (22m) within 5m (TW~4m) at 3.2 per cent copper and 1.7g/t gold (22m); and 3m (TW~2m) at 4.5 per cent copper, 0.3 g/t gold (20m) within 5m (TW~4m) at 2.8 per cent copper, 0.2g/t gold (20m) Nil Desperandum: 4.5m (TW~3.5m) at 4.0 per cent copper, 0.5 g/t gold (470m) within 30m (TW~23m) at 1.5 per cent copper and 0.3g/t gold (470m). Lady Fanny: 19.5m (TW~10m) at 1.2 per cent copper, 0.3 g/t gold (121m) within 70.6m (TW~35m) at 0.5 per cent copper, 0.1g/t gold (112m). Carnaby said it remained on track to complete the pre-feasibility study in Q3 2025. Detailed metallurgical and geotechnical studies on the Mount Hope, Lady Fanny, Burke & Wills and Nil Desperandum deposits are well advanced, with mineral resource estimate updates also progressing as a priority. Results are pending from several diamond drill holes completed in late 2024. Related: Carnaby super-charges copper plans with Trekelano deal The company said required confirmatory metallurgical and geotechnical drilling at Trekelano had been delayed slightly as site access has been impacted by the recent rainfall in northern Queensland. Mining and civil engineering studies will commence this month with the collection of all foundational data, including site visits, being undertaken. 'Government regulatory consultation for permitting has commenced and ecological surveys will be completed shortly,' the company said.
