Early results hint at Rocky’s heavyweight potential

Killi Resources has released results from its maiden RC drill program at the Ravenswood North project, pointing to potential for a large gold system at the Rocky prospect. Five holes were completed for 995m at the North Queensland site - the first to be drilled at a geochemical target identified by the company last year. All five holes intersected the Ravenswood granitoids - desired host rocks for gold mineralisation - and significant mineralised intersections of gold and/or silver were returned, the company reported. Results included 2m at 1.58g/t gold, 9.75g/t silver, and 0.23 per cent lead from 177m; 1m at 2.38g/t gold, 10.2g/t silver, and 0.28 per cent lead from 32m; 5m at 6.9g/t silver, including 2m at 15.6g/t silver from 160m; and 1m at 1.26g/t gold from 163m. Killi Resources describes results from the five holes as being consistent with first-pass drilling results of gold deposits within the district, and likely to represent proximity to a potential intrusive gold system. "We are all very excited with the discovery of a significantly mineralised granodiorite at Rocky. It’s a fantastic result for the first holes at the Ravenswood North project," Killi Resources chief executive officer Kathryn Cutler said. "These first drill holes have not only come back with broad zones of gold, silver, copper and lead mineralisation, they are also located close to surface, and within the same rock suite as the nearby major gold deposits. "The results of the geophysics also indicate we are in the thick of it, and only 200m from one of the major targets. "Rocky is fast becoming a priority for Killi, and based on these results and the targets generated, we plan on completing a targeted drill program in coming months." The company plans to continue working through the geophysical data and processing prospects with existing surface gold, copper and silver results. West Branch will be the next prospect to be evaluated. Rock chip samples taken from outcropping areas at that prospect last year returned results including 6.18 per cent copper, 8.93g/t gold and 10.1g/t silver; 5.2 per cent copper, 8.47g/t gold and 27.3g/t silver; and 15.75 per cent lead, 32.6g/t silver and 0.56g/t gold. High indium values of 8.94ppm and 7.25ppm were also returned from two of the 15 samples collected.
