Drill results build confidence in Copper Hills potential

Green and Gold Minerals reports ‘outstanding’ copper, silver, tin, indium and zinc results from the first drilling carried out at the Copper Hills prospect in North Queensland for 45 years.

The company’s first drilling campaign within its Herberton Conductor Metals project delivered high-grade intersections surpassing historical results at Copper Hills.

“The results are extremely encouraging and give us growing confidence that Copper Hills has the potential to develop into a significant high-grade conductor metals discovery,” Green & Gold Minerals (ASX: GG1) managing director Quentin Hill said.

Highlights include:

  • 5m at 131g/t silver, 1.05 per cent copper, 205g/t indium, 0.37 per cent tin, 9.1 per cent zinc, 1.1 per cent lead from 102m in hole CHC003, including 2m at 300g/t silver, 2.3 per cent copper, 421g/t indium, 0.91 per cent tin, 19.4 per cent zinc, and 2.3 per cent lead from 103m
  • 6m at 67g/t silver, 0.46 per cent copper, 11g/t indium, 4.1 per cent zinc, 2.7 per cent lead from 35m in CHC001, including 2m at 120g/t silver, 1.2 per cent copper, 28g/t indium, 0.05 per cent tin, 10.6 per cent zinc, and 6.9 per cent lead from 35m

The campaign at Copper Hills comprised six reverse circulation drill holes – three testing the main line of lode, one to the east and three at Copper Hills West.

Green and Gold said the results confirmed an increase in mineralised widths relative to historical drilling, with the lode thickening at depth.

More drilling is planned to further test the main lode, including at depth.

“Green & Gold is exploring for stand-alone copper, silver and tin deposits at Herberton,” Mr Hill said.

“Seeing both the width and grade increase in our first drilling program at Copper Hills is extremely encouraging.

“These results provide strong validation of the Herberton Conductor Metals acquisition, and we aim to drill deeper at Copper Hills and other prospects as soon as we can.

“The demand and prices for the conductor metals and indium are at historic highs, reflecting the increasing demand from electrification, AI and data centres. This trend explains increased interest in the whole Herberton region.”

The company acquired the Herberton tenements early this year from Burlington Mining.

It plans to launch a 3000m drill campaign at Mount Wandoo within its Chillagoe Gold Project in early September.

Drilling will aim to extend mineralisation along strike, increase confidence in the resource estimate and collect samples for metallurgical testing.
