Dittmer delivers ‘encouraging’ continuity, gains in size

Ballymore Resources believes its efforts to date are just 'scratching the surface' at Dittmer as it releases the final results from its Stage 4 drill program at the gold project. Assays received for the final holes, including a step-out hole, confirm that the high-grade mineralisation persists down dip and along strike from the company's previous work areas. Significant results from these holes include: DTDD041: 15.0m at 3.00 g/t gold from 151m downhole, including 3.9m at 8.93 g/t gold from 152m (including 1.9m at 15.58 g/t gold from 154m and 2.0m at 4.61 g/t gold from 160m. DTDD042B: 7.0m at 1.46 g/t gold from 298m, including 2.8m at 3.4 g/t gold from 300m (including 0.4m at 20.58 g/t gold from 301.3m Ballymore's work at the old Dittmer gold site near Proserpine has shown the continuity of the displaced high-grade Duffer lode which was previously mined there. Drill hole DTDD042B was its deepest hole into the Dittmer system to date and it intersected a zone of quartz-carbonate-sulphide veins from 288m to 305m. Ballymore said these results supported the thesis that the lode was getting wider at depth. The Duffer Lode structure remains open along strike and down-dip. “These latest results further reinforce our belief that we are just scratching the surface at the Dittmer project," Ballymore managing director David A-Izzeddin said. "Dittmer has the potential to be a significant standalone gold and copper system, and we’ve just drilled two of the broadest intersections reported to date. "Further drilling will be planned to target this newly discovered extension to the historic Duffer Lode." Following on from the completion of the Stage 4 underground drilling program, a drilling contractor has arrived on site for Ballymore's initial surface drilling program to test for extensions of the known mineralisation. "Field work has highlighted a major geochemical anomaly that coincides with an area of extensive gold-bearing lodes and historic workings," Mr A-Izzeddin said. "We have already demonstrated significant gold mineralisation associated with the Duffer lode and this drilling program is looking to confirm that this forms part of a major gold and copper deposit.” Meanwhile a Collaborative Exploration Initiative (CEI) funded heli-borne gradient magnetic and radiometric survey covering the entire Dittmer project area has kicked off. Ballymore was notified in March 2024 that it had received a Queensland Government CEI grant for $300,000 to undertake an 8,051 line-kilometre, low level heli-borne gradient magnetic and radiometric survey covering the Dittmer project area, as well as the neighbouring Julivon Creek EPM, held by BGM Investments.
