Results flowing in from resource expansion drilling are continuing to build confidence in the size of the Turpentine mineralised system, according to Breakthrough Minerals.

Situated within the Hazel Creek Copper-Gold Project, Turpentine is already the company’s largest single deposit, hosting an inferred mineral resource of 8.7Mt at 1.16 per cent copper equivalent for 101,000 tonnes of contained CuEq.

Breakthrough said three new holes had returned significant copper-gold mineralisation:

• 26TUR005: 5m at 3.21 per cent CuEq (2.96 per cent copper, 0.31g/t gold) from 137m
• 26TUR006: 12m at 0.87 per cent CuEq (0.77 per cent copper, 0.12g/t gold) from 235m, including 4m at 1.42 per cent CuEq (1.30 per cent copper, 0.15g/t gold) from 236m
• 26TUR007: 26m at 0.63 per cent CuEq (0.53 per cent copper, 0.12g/t gold) from 249m, including 15m at 0.99 per cent CuEq (0.83 per cent copper, 0.19g/t gold) from 254m

“These latest results continue to build confidence in the scale and quality of the Turpentine mineralised system, with multiple holes now returning significant copper-gold intersections,” Breakthrough Minerals (ASX: BTM) managing director Nigel Broomham said.

“Importantly, 26TUR005 has delivered a further high-grade intersection of 5m at 3.21 per cent CuEq.

“This continues the pattern of high-grade zones we’ve seen emerging from this program.

“26TUR007 is also particularly encouraging, returning a broad 26m mineralised interval including 15m at approximately 1 per cent CuEq, demonstrating the combination of width and grade that we are looking for as we systematically test this system.

“Results from Turpentine continue to strengthen our geological interpretation and our confidence in the resource growth potential for this deposit.

“Turpentine already hosts 101,000 tonnes of contained CuEq and is our largest deposit on the project. With further assays still to come, our objective remains clear – to use this drilling campaign to grow the Turpentine resource and, ultimately, the broader 200,000-tonne CuEq resource base across our North Queensland Copper-Gold Project.”

The latest results build on the Turpentine drilling results announced on August 6, with subsequent assays extending the previously reported intersection in 26TUR002:

• 26TUR002: 17m at 1.24 per cent CuEq, including 6m at 2.18 per cent CuEq; and
• 26TUR003: 19m at 1.03 per cent CuEq, including 9m at 1.84 per cent CuEq and 4m at 2.83 per cent CuEq.

Breakthrough acquired Turpentine in March as part of a broader package of former Aeris Resources tenements that it has dubbed the North Queensland Copper-Gold Project.
