BUMA Australia has secured a contract extension worth about $200 million per year to continue providing mining services at the Meandu coal mine.

Under the renewed contract, through to June 2026, BUMA Australia will maintain its current operational scale, with annual coal volumes of about 7 million tonnes.

The Meandu mine is located 25km south-east of Kingaroy and provides coal to Stanwell Corporation‘s Tarong power stations as its sole customer.

BUMA Australia, part of the Delta Dunia Group, has been operating the Meandu mine project since 2021.

BUMA Australia’s role on site includes Site Senior Executive (SSE) responsibilities, mine planning, drilling, blasting, overburden removal, coal mining, and the management of coal handling and processing plants.

It will also oversee rehabilitation activities, civil works, and the maintenance of both mobile and fixed plant equipment.

In 2023, BUMA Australia reached a milestone by completing the rehabilitation of 39.4ha of native vegetation at Meandu mine (pictured below).
