Leaders meet in Mount Isa to clear a path for copper

The regional resilience forum series has kicked off in Mount Isa.

Today’s event is focused on copper.

Bottlenecks include transport, energy and water. Bureaucrats from representative government departments as well as Queensland Rail and Aurizon are contributing to round table discussions and panel presentations.

Established miners including Mount Isa Mines and emerging junior miners including Maronan Metals, Mount Isa Minerals and Carnaby Resources are participating.

Mid-tiers are represented by MMG and 29Metals which have the Dugald River and Capricorn Copper operations respectively north of Cloncurry.
